Seeks Additional Commissioners

The First 5 Sonoma County Commission, the governing body of First 5 Sonoma County, is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on the Commission. The Commission directs the investment of nearly $5 million annually in programs and services to benefit children from birth to age five in Sonoma County.

The Commission is particularly seeking applicants who can represent and engage the business or parent communities in supporting and promoting optimal early childhood development. The desired applicant should represent the diverse cultural, social, occupational and economic strengths and needs of our community.

Estimated time commitment is six to eight hours per month, consisting of attendance at Commission meetings, active participation in one or two Commission committees and reading relevant materials. Terms are three years. Potential applicants are cordially invited to observe the next First 5 Sonoma County Commission meeting to see the First 5 Commission in action and meet the Commissioners and staff. Meetings are held the fourth Monday of the month from 3:30-5:30 PM.
