Sonoma County health officials issue cold weather warning
The County of Sonoma is issuing a cold weather warning in response to the National Weather Service’s prediction of freezing overnight temperatures on Tuesday, Feb. 22 through Friday, Feb. 25. Temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 20s and 30s for most areas. Cold temperatures will impact the homeless and those without adequate heating. Read full story

Community feedback solicited for IOLERO Director recruitment process
In March, Sonoma County will launch a nationwide recruitment to select the next director of the county’s Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach (IOLERO). City of Petaluma, County of Sonoma and COTS announce the completion of Phase One of People’s Village Project
The City of Petaluma, in partnership with the County of Sonoma and Committee on the Shelterless (COTS), announced today the completion of the first phase of the People’s Village, a pilot interim housing program that will provide 25 individual shelters for our most vulnerable community members experiencing homelessness. Nearly $25 million in direct assistance has beenprovided to more than 2,100 Sonoma County households through Sonoma County’sEmergency Rental Assistance Program, county officials announced today. Inaddition, more than 4,000 pending and completed applications are in the queueand are predicted to draw down the remainder of the nearly $40 million inrental assistance funds assigned to Sonoma County. Twelve Bay Area Health Officers to Lift Most Indoor Mask Mandates on February 16
In alignment with the State, the Bay Area counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, and the City of Berkeley will lift universal mask requirements for most indoor public settings beginning Wednesday, February 16. Unvaccinated individuals over age 2 will continue to be required to wear masks in all indoor public settings. Businesses, venue operators and hosts may determine their own paths forward to protect staff and patrons and may choose to require all patrons to wear masks. Read full story
