The Registrar of Voters Office performs a range of election-related duties and and other public services that increase citizen participation and education.
Important Announcement
As of July 1, 2025, the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office is its own department and is no longer a division of the Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor department. As of July 22, the head of the new standalone Registrar of Voters department will be Evelyn Mendez, who was appointed by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. Special District Offices

- Seven special districts have seats up for election this November. Click here for the full list (current as of June 27; still subject to change).
- Candidate nominations for the above districts opened July 14 at 8:00 a.m. and close August 8 at 5:00 p.m.

Placing Measures on the Ballot
- The deadline for any local governing body (county, city/town, school district, special district) to place a measure on the ballot for the November 2025 Election is August 8 at 5:00 p.m.

Sonoma County to appoint Evelyn Mendez as first standalone Registrar of Voters
Evelyn Mendez, a dedicated public servant with nearly 30 years of experience overseeing elections at the state and county level, is set to be appointed as the first standalone Sonoma County Registrar of Voters.
