Russian River Mouth Open; Water Levels Dropping
The mouth of the Russian River opened on its own at about 9:30 p.m., Sunday, December 16. The water surface elevation is currently about six feet above sea level, and no longer presents a flooding threat to low-lying areas of Jenner. Read full story

Thompson and Huffman AnnounceFederal Grant for Sonoma County Water Project
Today Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-05)and Rep. Jared Huffman (CA-02) announced that the Federal EmergencyManagement Agency (FEMA) has awarded more than $2.9 million to the SonomaCounty Water Agency (Sonoma Water) for relocation of a portion of the watersupply pipeline outside a hazard zone, providing for increased resiliency tofuture disasters. Flooding Likely in Low-Lying Areas of Jenner
Flooding is likely in low-lying areas near Jenner tonight and into Monday, due to waters rapidly rising in the Russian River estuary (where the river flows into the Pacific Ocean). Water surface elevations in the estuary are currently approximately 10 feet above sea level. Read full story
