Volunteer Opportunities with Boards, Commissions, Committees & Task Forces
The County of Sonoma offers opportunities for the general public to become involved in local government by serving on local boards, commissions, committees, and task forces, as well as various work groups, coalitions, and councils. This list includes advisory bodies whose members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors or other governmental bodies, and groups where participants are selected by the sponsoring department or agency. This list is also available at the counter in the Board of Supervisor’s office.
Information about vacancies in these bodies is available to the public as a result of legislation sponsored by the late Senator Ken Maddy.
When a vacancy occurs the information is posted on a Vacancy List within 20 days of occurrence.
An application form and information about the application process is available online.
Current opportunities will be announced below.
- If there are no listings at this time, it could be that the Advisory Board rosters are all completely full.
- You can opt to submit an application and resume if you’d like, but there is no guarantee that you will hear from the Board until there are openings.
