Lake Sonoma Steelhead Festival Returns February 8, 2025
GEYSERVILLE, CA | February 04, 2025
Mark your calendars for the return of the Lake Sonoma Steelhead Festival at Warm Springs Dam on Saturday, Feb. 8. This free event regularly attracts thousands of nature lovers from Sonoma County and beyond to the Milt Brandt Visitor Center and Don Clausen Fish Hatchery to celebrate the annual return of Steelhead trout to spawn the next generation of fish.
This year’s event will feature a host of learning opportunities for adults and kids with nature exhibits and demonstrations about environmental stewardship, preservation of natural resources and protection of threatened and endangered species. Guided tours of the fish hatchery will be available periodically throughout the event.
Find out more about your next favorite hobby, disc golf, or shake paws with a mussel-sniffing dog at one of the fun exhibits hosted by local community groups and businesses alongside the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Sonoma Water, Cal Fire and Sonoma County Bowmen, who will be sharing information about their services.
The band SoloRio will provide live musical entertainment, the Key Club of Cloverdale will be offering face painting and bubble shows are set to make another splashy appearance courtesy of Sonoma Bubble Man. A tasty variety of food trucks will be available, with Bear Republic Brewing and the Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley offering beer and wine selections to support the Friends of Lake Sonoma.
While the event itself is free, attendees can purchase food and beverages. It's recommended for participants to bring their refillable water bottles.
The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. Shuttle services are provided to and from overflow parking lots. Event details can be found online at www.SteelheadFestival.org.
This event is proudly hosted by Sonoma Water, Friends of Lake Sonoma, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the California Department of Fish & Wildlife. Proceeds of the event benefit the nonprofit Friends of Lake Sonoma.
