Sonoma County Juvenile Hall Division Director Receives Statewide Recognition

Named in honor of San Benito County Chief Probation Officer Joseph Frontella, the award recognizes exceptional leadership, compassion, and dedication in the field of juvenile justice.

“This award celebrates individuals whose service exemplifies the principles of integrity, fairness, and innovation that Chief Frontella brought to his work in probation,” said Vanessa Fuchs, Chief Probation Officer of Sonoma County. “Kilee’s remarkable contributions to juvenile justice and the youth in our  care and custody in Sonoma County truly embody these values, and make us all in Sonoma County proud.”

Throughout her career, Kilee has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving outcomes for justice-involved youth and their families. She has reimagined housing units to foster rehabilitation, expanded programming through community partnerships, and ensured the highest standards of compliance and care within juvenile facilities. As president of the California Association of

Probation Institutions Administration, Kilee has advanced statewide collaboration and professional development, while her compassionate leadership in times of crisis has exemplified her dedication to the well-being of her team. Kilee’s tireless efforts reflect the integrity, fairness, and innovation that define this prestigious award.

Her leadership, dedication, and compassion have transformed not only the lives of the youth she serves but also the professional community around her,” said Kelly Vernon, President of CPOC and Tulare County Probation Chief. “Her contributions to probation and juvenile justice reflect the highest standards of excellence and integrity in working with youth in the justice system.”

The Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) is an association of all 58 counties with a shared identity as law enforcement leaders.
