Local Aging and Disability Action Plan (LADAP)
Local Aging and Disability Action Plan
This initiative was funded through a grant from the California Department of Aging (CDA) to build community engagement through the establishment of a culturally and linguistically inclusive community Local Aging and Disability Action Plan (LADAP) to address current, emerging, and future aging and disability-related needs, service delivery and supports.
The LADAP includes goals and priority initiatives for Santa Rosa and Sonoma Valley that meet the shared and unique needs of each area to support BIPOC communities and populations that have been historically under-resourced and under-served.
Priority populations for LADAP include older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), including American Indian or Alaska Native, Black, Asian, Latinx (Latino or Hispanic), Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander; persons of lower incomes; and persons with immigrant or refugee status.
The LADAP is closely aligned with the Local Master Plan (MPA) work that is currently underway. Focus areas from the LADAP will be integrated in the work of the MPA Action Teams.
LADAP Advisory Committee
The LADAP Advisory Committee consists of sixteen community members who self-identify as BIPOC individuals, advocates or members of organizations representing or serving primarily BIPOC individuals, older adults or people with disabilities. The LADAP Advisory Committee along with MIG Consulting and local community organizations provide guidance on community engagement activities and plan development.
